Built Up Roofing

Built up roof membranes, or BUR for short, have been a common roof solution in America for over 100 years. BUR systems are easily identifiable by their tar and gavel appearance. Typically they are composed of layers of bitumen and reinforcing fabrics that create a finished membrane.

Modified Bitumen Roof

One of the lasting roofing options for flat roofs is a bitumen roof or a modified bitumen roof. Modified bitumen is a type of roof that is durable and weather resistant. Modifiers are added to standard roofing asphalt to replace plasticizers removed during the distillation process. Bitumen is reinforced with fiberglass or polyester fiber matting in order to increase durability and strength.

Standing Seam Metal Roof

Standing seam metal roof is defined as a concealed fastener metal panel system that features vertical legs and a broad, flat area between the two legs. It’s also described as having raised seams, or vertical legs, that rise above the level of the panel’s flat area. And, standing seam metal roofs have high seams, fewer seams, and are durable and tough.
